Kitchen Assistant
At Black Swan Care Group, we are currently looking for a kitchen assistant to work in one of our residential care facilities, Southwell Court on a part time, 18 hour permanent contract, £12.60 per hour.
Southwell Court is a modern, spacious residential care home in the heart of the village of Melbourn, Cambridgeshire.
The working hours are 09:00am-15:00pm, 3 days a week and working every other weekend.

Responsibilities of a Kitchen Assistant:
- Assist the Cook with unloading fresh supplies and organising the stockroom. Checking sell-by dates and rotating food stock. Reviewing kitchen inventory and determining what items are needed.
- Assist the Cook when required with washing, peeling, and preparing food ingredients and using equipment such as mixers, special knives and cutters.
- Cleaning kitchen appliances, ovens, dishes and pans and observing cooking times and correct temperatures. . (completing daily cleaning schedules/ documenting items cleaned)
- Assist in the preparation of meals, light snacks and drink in line with IDDSI requirements as needed (Full training provided)
