Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant to join our culinary team. Duties
- Assist in the preparation of ingredients for cooking, including washing, chopping, and measuring.
- Support chefs during meal preparation by following instructions and recipes accurately.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen by washing utensils, pots, and pans.
- Ensure all food safety guidelines are adhered to, including proper storage and handling of food items.
- Help with the setup and breakdown of catering events as required.
- Assist in inventory management by keeping track of supplies and notifying supervisors when stock is low.
- Participate in maintaining a hygienic work environment by regularly cleaning surfaces and equipment.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a kitchen or restaurant environment is preferred but not essential.
- Basic knowledge of food safety practices and culinary techniques is advantageous.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team while also being able to take initiative when necessary.
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail.
- Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
- Good communication skills to liaise effectively with kitchen staff.
