About the Role
We're looking for a hands-on, proactive junior System Administrator to support our growing team with IT systems and day-to-day technical needs. This is a great opportunity for someone early in their career who enjoys solving problems, improving systems, and learning on the job.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up, configure, and maintain company devices (PCs, Macs, laptops), including Windows upgrades and OS updates.
- Manage user accounts and access: password resets, onboarding/offboarding, email, Slack, Microsoft accounts, SVN, and other tools.
- Provide first-line support to staff for day-to-day IT issues, including hardware, software, and connectivity problems.
- Administer and support our bespoke training platform (user management, access issues, routine maintenance, updates to course content).
- Maintain and troubleshoot office systems: online telephone system, printer, fax machine, franking machine.
- Liaise with building/facility IT support for network outages, setup issues, and infrastructure-related concerns.
- Conduct audits and checks, such as:
- Reviewing mailbox size and user inbox organisation.
- Assessing software versions and ensuring consistency across systems.
- Identifying outdated or underutilised equipment and recommending updates.
- Help implement IT best practices and contribute to improving internal processes and documentation.
Essential Knowledge and Skills
- Basic knowledge of Windows and macOS setup and troubleshooting.
- Comfortable with user management across common platforms (email, Slack, MS Office, etc.).
- Willingness to learn and get stuck in with both hardware and software issues.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a can-do attitude.
- Good communication and organisational skills.
- At least two years of experience in an IT support role.
Desirable Skills
- Exposure to SVN or similar version control systems.
- Familiarity with VoIP or office telephone systems.
- Experience supporting custom or web-based platforms.
- Any formal IT qualifications or certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+; Degree or Diploma).

Essential Criteria that must be met
- Must have full rights to live and work in the UK. Applicants who are in the UK on Dependant Visa, Post Study Worker Visa or have any other Visa related constraints will automatically be rejected.
- Must be within reasonable commutable distance within Milton Keynes or one of the surrounding counties; Bedfordshire, Northamptonshire, Buckinghamshire.
