As a Junior Merchandiser for our George Clothing Kidswear Category you will manage and have responsibility for planning and delivering the merchandising plan within the division. The role involves planning and trading the department sales and markdown budgets, controlling stock levels and maximising profitability. The Junior Merchandiser may be responsible for an Assistant Merchandiser and is expected to step up in the absence of the Merchandiser, managing the department with support from other functions.
About You
- Self motivated and able to work under pressure, quickly and effectively to agreed deadlines
- Has some Merchandising experience in a fast paced retail environment.
- Results focused - can demonstrate clarity of thinking and problem solving
- Able to work effectively within a team, maintaining strong communication with both internal and external partners
- Have a proactive approach to problem solving with a 'can do' attitude, willing to take initiative and seek solutions
- Strong analytical skills - can interpret data with ease and spot opportunities
- Ability to coach and develop the Assistant Merchandiser on the team
- Experience in managing supplier relationships from development to delivery
