Overview
We have a superb opportunity for an enthusiastic, skilled and experienced Injection Moulding Setter to join our Night Shift team.
We are Global Filters, a long-established, successful and growing company specialising in the manufacture of injection-moulded plastic filters and other technical mouldings for prestigious household-name customers around the world.
As the Setter on shift, you will be a key member of our production team, helping us make high-quality moulded parts, efficiently, effectively and on time using a range of modern injection moulding machines (25-300T).
To be considered for the role, you must possess a formal, industry-recognised injection moulding setter or technician qualification, backed by at least 3 years' real recent experience in a similar role.
Hours are fixed, but negotiable. We know the pressures of modern life, so we want to agree working hours that work best for you. The majority of your work pattern must be during our Monday-Thursday night shift (18:00 - 07:00), but tell us what hours would work best for you, and if you're the right person for the job we'll do what we can to accommodate your wishes.
Salary is negotiable depending on skills, experience and agreed working hours.
Location
You will work at our factory in Verwood, Dorset. We are in a beautiful part of southern England, on the edge of the New Forest National Park, just minutes away from the sandy beaches of Bournemouth and Poole, and within easy reach of the cities of Southampton, Salisbury and Winchester.
Duties
As Night Shift Setter you will be the moulding expert on the shift. You will carry out tool changes, process setting, monitoring and troubleshooting, ensuring optimal moulding performance while adhering to our safety, quality and production standards at all times.
You will:
- Carry out mould tool changes safely, efficiently and to specification
- Set moulding machines, robots and processing equipment to deliver conforming parts at target production rates
- Monitor, identify and correct moulding defects and process issues through setting changes
- Identify and report tooling and machine issues requiring maintenance attention
- Support and closely collaborate with other shift team members to achieve desired production outcomes
- Maintain thorough and accurate records, including production and tooling logs
- Carry out effective handovers to day shift setters
- Work safely at all times, in full compliance with our health and safety policy and rules
- Maintain a clean and organised workspace
Requirements
- Industry-recognised injection moulding setter/technician qualification (eg PTIC level 2 or equivalent) is essential; a higher-level qualification, eg PTIC level 3 or above, is highly desirable.
- At least 3 years' recent experience in changing and setting injection mould tools, including process start-ups, shutdowns, optimisation and troubleshooting. Familiarity with Battenfeld, Arburg and/or Haitian moulding machines up to 300T and their associated robot systems will be an advantage.
- Thorough and methodical; analytical problem solver
- Strong attention to detail, with good record-keeping skills
- Fluent, clear spoken and written English
- Confident, accurate basic maths ability
- Collaborative team player, able to plan, think and act proactively and independently in line with shift goals and Company procedures
- Energetic and in good health, able to meet physical demands of role
- Living within reasonable commuting distance, or genuinely willing to relocate
- Previous night shift experience is highly desirable
