The Children's Literacy Charity is a registered charity working alongside primary school pupils who struggle to read and write. Our vision is to close the literacy gap for all disadvantaged children, enabling them to achieve their true potential.
We are looking for an experienced HR Officer to join our growing charity and support our work delivering specialist tuition to the children most in need.
This part time role will involve delivering a comprehensive HR service to our workforce of specialist tutors and central office team with a strong focus on recruitment, supporting the employee life cycle and payroll.
Working closely with our Head of Finance, you will be experienced in generalist HR (including recruitment) with a pragmatic approach to problem solving and offering fit for purpose HR advice, adaptable to shifting priorities, comfortable with the financial/payroll elements of the role, using databases and adept at MS Excel.
Experience in the education sector or working within a charity, small organisation or start up is advantageous and you will need to be able to reliably travel to central London and be able to evolve and flex to the needs of a growing charity.
The role is fixed term for one year with the potential for the hours to be increased. It is anticipated that the hours will be worked across multiple days with some hybrid working.
The role is initially for 1 year with the potential to be extended with an actual salary of £9,000 per annum.
