Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Home Assistant to provide essential support to individuals in their homes. The ideal candidate will possess a blend of interpersonal skills and practical abilities, ensuring that clients receive the highest standard of care. This role involves assisting with daily living activities, maintaining care plans, and fostering a supportive environment for clients.
Responsibilities
- Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal care, meal preparation, and medication management.
- Drive clients to appointments or social activities as required, ensuring their safety and comfort during transport.
- Communicate effectively with clients, families, and healthcare professionals to ensure continuity of care.
- Maintain accurate records of client progress and any changes in their condition or needs.
- Implement care plans tailored to individual client requirements, adapting as necessary to meet changing needs.
- Support clients in engaging with their community and maintaining social connections.
- Ensure a clean and safe living environment for clients by performing light household tasks as needed.
Experience
- Previous experience in home care or a care home setting is preferred but not essential.
- Familiarity with IT systems for record-keeping and communication purposes is advantageous.
- Strong communication skills in English are required to effectively interact with clients and their families.
- A valid driving licence is necessary for transporting clients as part of the role.
- An understanding of care plans and the ability to implement them is beneficial.
