We're looking for a skilled and self-motivated Mechanic/Fitter. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the running of our in-house workshop. The company operates a mixed fleet of vehicles from transit vans through to artics.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a well-established business and assist with the running of our in-house dedicated workshop. Relevant experience and training records are essential.
- Ensure the safe and compliant condition of our varied fleet.
- Perform minor and major repairs on all lorries and trailers.
- Maintain parts inventory and cleanliness in the workshop.
- Carrying out routine scheduled services.
- Identifying and addressing vehicle defects to a high standard and in accordance with company procedures.
- Always ensuring our fleet is fully acceptable to VOSA/DVSA standards.
- Recording detailed maintenance and repair works to ensure absolute traceability.
- Monday to Friday with opportunity for overtime.
Qualifications and Skills
Suitable candidates must largely satisfy the following requirements:
- Experienced in heavy goods vehicle maintenance.
- Relevant qualifications strongly desired.
- Strong technical understanding and a practical nature.
- High levels of reliability and integrity.
- Passion to resolve problems and find proper solutions.
- Excellent communication skills
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong organisational skills.
