Job description
S. Porretta & Sons Ltd, a family firm, operate a fleet of Scania and MAN vehicles, Lorry loaders (hiabs), along with MAC and Broshuis trailers, VW and MAN vans and forklifts from our site at Radford, Coventry.
We are seeking to appoint a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our team of highly motivated and loyal professionals who work collaboratively to ensure all work is carried out to the highest of standards.
The workshop department plays an integral part in the Company’s fleet operations, ensuring legal compliance in all areas.
The workshop’s normal operating hours are Monday to Friday 08.00am to 18.00pm.
The successful candidate will be a qualified Heavy / Light Goods Vehicle mechanic or be time served with significant experience in all the major elements of goods vehicle repairs including engines, transmission, braking systems and suspension including a basic knowledge of vehicle electrics. Experience of Goods Vehicle MOT preparation is desirable. Must have the ability to work on a wide variety of vehicles and plant including HGVs, LGVs, trailers and forklifts. Hydraulic experience preferred but not essential.
You will be required to inspect, service, diagnose and repair mechanical & electrical defects, brake test and prepare MOTs, and also complete all relevant paperwork to a high standard. We have a system for defect logging and resolution.
An HGV C+E driving licence would be advantageous, but not essential.

Pay: £40,000.00-£50,000.00 per year
