Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Healthcare Assistant or Nurse Associate to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will provide essential support in delivering high-quality patient care, ensuring that all patients receive the attention and assistance they need. Your knowledge of anatomy and commitment to patient well-being will be vital in creating a positive healthcare experience.
We work out of two locations and have 18,000 patients and we pride ourselves on providing the highest standards of patient care. We have an Outstanding CQC rating.
We use EMIS Web and have a team of GP's, Paramedics and Pharmacists who work alongside our excellent nursing team. We are a training practice and have a strong emphasis on education. Our practice is actively seeking and developing new opportunities and improvements to our services.
Working alongside the practice nursing team and under the direct supervision of the Lead Nurse GP the post-holder will be responsible for delivering and assisting clinical and nursing staff in the provision of treatment for long term health conditions, preventative care, health promotion and patient education and support the delivery of nursing services.
A team player with good clinical skills and an interest in further training and personal development are vital. The ability to work autonomously within a busy team environment is essential.
NVQ level 3 is required and the willingness to undertake the Care Certificate if not already achieved.
Salary is negotiable, depending on experience.
- The applicant must either be up to date with vaccinations to include Hepatitis B & MMR immune or be willing to undergo an immunisation course, at own expense before commencing employment.
Clinical Skills
- Undertake, record and follow guidelines for the tasks for which you have received appropriate training including
- Phlebotomy
- ECG recording
- 24 hour BP monitoring
- Measuring and recording following physiological measurements in routine presentations:
- Blood pressure
- Pulse, rate and rhythm
- Temperature
- Height and weight and body mass index
- Perform NHS health checks
- Perform diabetes physical checks
- Prepare and maintain environments and equipment before, during and after patient care interventions
- Ability to work within own scope pf practice and understand when to refer to nurses or GP
- Assist in raising awareness of health and well-being, and how it can be promoted
- Give accurate and appropriate information to patients within own competence
- Ability to record accurate clinical notes
- Perform basic wound dressing changes according to a nursing plan
- Vaccine/cold chain storage, monitoring and recording
- With further training - give vaccinations to a prescribed population
