We have a fantastic opportunity for an Healthcare Assistant to join the team on a bank basis at HMP Garth, a Category B male prison located near Preston. HMP Garth has capacity of around 840, and holds inmates serving sentences of 4 years or more.

Candidates are required to have a Legal right to work in the UK and due to the nature of the role, offers of employment will be subject to additional vetting and security checks
What you'll be doing
As our new Bank Healthcare Assistant, your responsibilities will vary. Some of your duties will include:
- Ensure continuity of care for all patients, and deliver outstanding care at all times
- Carry out bloods, obs, ECGs etc
- Work across all areas of care, including inpatients, clinics, primary care, health promotion, bloods etc
- Respond to emergency situations as needed
- Work holistically with your patients and other healthcare staff, including nurses, nursing associates, pharmacy etc
- Deliver personalised, non judgemental care, based on patient feedback
- Contribute to, and implement care packages, assist with health promotion, wellbeing and clinics

We are looking for caring, compassionate but also driven professionals who can help us drive our vision for a fair and inclusive healthcare access to all.
- Hold a NVQ Level 2 / 3 in Health & Social Care, or equivalent work experience
- Have experience in Venepuncture, ECGs, NEWS2 etc
- Experience in a healthcare environment - hospital, prison or within the community
- Although not essential, your own vehicle would be beneficial due to the location of the site
