Theatre Health Care support worker Band 3

1 Full time 37.0 HR/Week , 1 Part time 28Hr post per week

All Posts will be based within the In Patient Theatre/Day surgery unit RAH in the Clyde Sector of NHSGGC. Do you want to become part of a dynamic and friendly team?

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 3 Health cAre support worker post, within the Main Theatre/Day surgery unit in RAH.

The unit consists of 2 operating theatres , a recovery area, and a minor operations HUB.

The unit operates on 7 day a week basis, 24 hours a day including PH’s in order to provide care for those patients requiring surgery for specialties such as urology, gynaecology, dentistry, cardiology and general surgery, colorectal, ENT and also colorectal robotics. Which is delivered in twice a week sessions at the QEUH .

The day surgery unit operates Mon-Fri 0800-2000 excluding PH’s and weekends.

The theatre department also benefit from a perioperative education SCN who works closely with staff in order to develop and support staff throughout the department.

Applicants should demonstrate a keen interest in working within the perioperative environment, although previous experience within a healthcare setting is advantageous this is not essential as full training will be provided.

These posts require PVG Scheme membership /Disclosure Scotland Check.

The successful candidates are required to demonstrate flexibility by working within a dynamic and evolving service. Furthermore, the successful candidates will be expected where necessary to engage in multi-site working within NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde in order to achieve the needs of the service.
