Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Healthcare Assistant to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care and support within various healthcare settings, including hospitals, clinics, and urgent care facilities. This position requires a strong understanding of medical terminology, patient service skills, and the ability to work effectively in fast-paced environments.
Responsibilities
- Assist healthcare professionals in delivering high-quality patient care across various departments, including dermatology, internal medicine, and emergency medicine.
- Perform vital sign assessments and document patient intake information accurately in EHR systems.
- Support medication administration and ensure compliance with safety protocols.
- Provide medical administrative support by managing patient records and coordinating appointments.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to enhance the quality of care for patients in inpatient and outpatient settings.
- Engage with patients to provide exceptional service, addressing their needs and concerns effectively.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment while adhering to infection control standards.
- Utilize knowledge of anatomy and physiology to assist in patient assessments and treatments.
Experience
Candidates should possess the following skills and experiences:
- Familiarity with ICD coding and medical terminology is essential.
- Experience in hospital settings, particularly within Level I or Level II trauma centers, is highly desirable.
- Previous roles in urgent care or outpatient clinics will be advantageous.
- Basic life support certification is required; additional certifications related to geriatrics or pediatric intensive care (PICU) are a plus.
- Knowledge of X-ray procedures and OR experience is beneficial for specific roles within our team.
