As a Care Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing compassionate and high-quality care to individuals in a care home or home care setting. Your primary responsibility will be to support residents with daily activities, ensuring their comfort and well-being while promoting their independence. Duties
- Assist residents with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Support individuals with mobility and transfers, ensuring their safety at all times.
- Help with meal preparation and feeding as required, promoting nutritional needs.
- Maintain accurate records of care provided and report any changes in residents' conditions to the appropriate personnel.
- Engage residents in social activities and encourage participation to enhance their quality of life.
- Follow individual care plans diligently to meet the specific needs of each resident.
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, and team members to foster a supportive environment.
- Drive to various locations if required for home care assignments or community activities.
Requirements
- Proficiency in English is essential for effective communication with residents and team members.
- Previous experience in a care home or home care setting is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Familiarity with IT systems for maintaining records and documentation is beneficial.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also being capable of working independently when necessary.
- A valid driving licence may be required for positions involving travel between homes or community visits.
