Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Healthcare Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support to individuals in care homes and home care settings, assisting with daily activities and ensuring the well-being of our clients. Your ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with healthcare professionals will be vital in delivering high-quality care.
Duties
- Assist clients with personal care tasks, including bathing, dressing, and grooming
- Support clients in daily living activities, such as meal preparation and medication management
- Help implement and monitor care plans tailored to individual needs
- Maintain accurate records of client progress and report any changes to the healthcare team
- Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, fostering a positive environment
- Drive clients to appointments or social activities as needed (driving licence required)
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care
Experience
- Previous experience in a care home or home care setting is preferred but not essential
- Familiarity with care plans and the ability to follow instructions accurately
- Proficiency in English, both spoken and written, is necessary for effective communication
- Basic IT skills for maintaining records and using healthcare software systems
- Strong communication skills to engage with clients, families, and team members
