Full time

We’re looking for a visionary and highly skilled Head of Technical to join our in-house construction senior leadership team. This is a pivotal role, responsible for leading a high-performing technical function that delivers best-in-class planning approvals and technical solutions to support our ambitious growth strategy. You’ll be a key player in enabling the successful procurement, construction, sale, and adoption of our residential developments, ensuring quality and compliance at every stage.

As Head of Technical, you’ll lead and inspire a talented technical team, overseeing their workload, supporting their development, and driving continuous improvement across all technical operations. You’ll be accountable for ensuring that each development is equipped with the right technical expertise at the right time, that all technical information is timely, accurate, and aligned to our project plans, and that we continually exceed regulatory and design expectations. This role also requires you to lead budget setting, manage costs effectively, and maintain strong governance through robust systems and procedures.

You’ll work collaboratively across the business and with external consultants, stakeholders, and planning authorities to shape and deliver successful planning applications, guide effective due diligence on land acquisitions, and ensure our homes meet all design, quality, and regulatory standards. Your insight will influence the broader development strategy, and your leadership will help shape a culture of innovation, excellence, and accountability.

This role is permanent and full time. You can be based from either of our main offices in Chipping Sodbury or Tewkesbury with regular travel and home working available. You’ll oversee the south of our geography covering Gloucestershire to Weston-Super-Mare and across to Swindon.

You will have:

  • Significant experience leading technical delivery for volume residential housing developments
  • In-depth knowledge of relevant health and safety legislation
  • Proven ability to manage budgets and lead high-performing teams
  • A strong technical background in engineering, surveying, planning, or architecture
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a keen eye for detail
  • Confidence in navigating complex development environments
  • Strong communication and influencing skills at all levels
  • Proficiency in digital systems such as Viewpoint 4P and Microsoft Office packages
  • Able to complete a basic DBS and consumer check as well as have the ability to drive and a full UK driving licence

This is more than a job—it’s a leadership opportunity to shape the future of residential development. If you thrive in a forward-thinking environment and are ready to lead a sector-leading team, we’d love to hear from you.

The closing date is 22 June.
