Join a Council Rated Good by CQC – Lead the Future of Adult Social Care in Sefton!

At Sefton Council, we’re proud of the recognition we’ve received from the Care Quality Commission (CQC), who recently rated our Adult Social Care services as Good. But we’re not stopping there. We’re on a bold and ambitious journey to continue our journey and build upon our Good rating—and we’re looking for a passionate, visionary leader to help us get there.

This is more than a job. It’s a chance to lead transformational change across some of the most vital and complex areas of adult social care: Learning Disability and Autism, Mental Health, and Transitions. You’ll be at the heart of a system that puts people first—where co-production is a way of working that’s deeply embedded in everything we do.

A Role with Purpose and Impact

As Head of Service, you’ll provide strategic and operational leadership across a diverse and evolving portfolio. You’ll work closely with partners across health, social care, and the voluntary sector to ensure that people with complex needs receive the right support, at the right time, in the right way.

You’ll lead with compassion and clarity, ensuring that our services are not only compliant with national frameworks but are also truly person-centred. You’ll champion innovation, drive transformation, and embed a culture of continuous improvement—always with the voices of people with lived experience at the forefront.

Co-Production at the Core

In Sefton, we believe that the best services are designed with people, not for them. That’s why co-production is central to this role. You’ll work alongside individuals, families, carers, and communities to shape services that reflect real needs and aspirations. You’ll ensure that those with lived experience are not just consulted but empowered to lead and influence change.

A Place Where You Can Thrive

Sefton is a place of opportunity, diversity, and community spirit. From our beautiful coastline to our strong partnerships across health and care, we’re building a borough where everyone can live a good life. As a senior leader, you’ll be supported by a dedicated team, a clear strategic vision, and a council that values innovation, inclusion, and integrity.

We’re looking for someone who brings not only experience and expertise but also energy, empathy, and a deep commitment to making a difference. If you’re ready to lead with purpose and help us achieve our vision of outstanding care, we’d love to hear from you. For an informal discussion please contact Sarah Alldis Assistant Director Adult Social Care & Health - sarah.alldis@sefton.gov.uk
