Mere Court Hotel, a 4-star country house hotel set in the heart of Cheshire, is seeking a dynamic and results-driven Head of Sales to lead our sales, marketing, and revenue strategies. About the Role
As Head of Sales, you will be responsible for driving new business, maximising revenue opportunities, and ensuring our brand is effectively positioned across all channels. This is a hands-on role for someone who thrives in a proactive sales environment, with the creativity to lead innovative marketing campaigns and the commercial acumen to deliver measurable results.
Key Responsibilities:
- Proactively source and grow new business across leisure, corporate, weddings, and events markets
- Develop and execute sales and marketing plans to drive revenue growth and market share
- Manage key accounts, build long-term client relationships, and secure repeat business
- Work closely with the General Manager to set and monitor revenue targets and KPIs
- Analyse sales performance and market trends, adapting strategies accordingly
- Represent the hotel at networking events, trade shows, and sales missions
About You:
- Proven track record in a senior sales role within hospitality, preferably hotels or events venues
- Strong understanding of revenue management principles
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
- Confident in both face-to-face and telephone sales, with a proactive, “hunter” mindset
- Creative marketing flair with the ability to design and implement campaigns
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
