The role
We are seeking a Head of Insurance to join us in a Senior Leadership role that combines all aspects of best estimate, SCR and IFRS assumption setting for non-market risks including: Longevity, Operational Risk, Climate Risk, Persistency and all other non-market risks. You will lead and manage the process to ensure methodologies are regularly reviewed, updated and agreed through governance.
The role will interact closely with our external auditors, to ensure our assumptions meet their requirements. The role will also have a key link to BPA pricing and management actions, given the high dependence pricing assumptions have on our assumptions.
- Own demographic assumption setting process, supporting SMF and board approval
- Manage and lead internal model development and reviews for non-market risks
- Attend relevant governance committees, in particular ATC, IMC and ALCO
- Present to Board committees as needed – MGC and BAC
- Present to PRA as needed
- Own controls relevant to non-market assumptions
- Relationships with key stakeholders are maintained
- Ensure ICSA and risk framework requirements are met
- FIA Qualified with deep actuarial experience
- Proven leadership experience, ideally managing large teams (circa 30 colleagues)
- Proven experience in SII requirements, capital model and insurance assumption setting process.
- Familiarity with IFR17 is desirable
