About the Role
This role is responsible for the digital education programme for our learners and the delivery of the getting Oxfordshire Online (GOO) IT refurbishment project. You will also liaise with our outsourced IT provider and Director of Business Support to support in managing IT provision across the charity.
Roles and Responsibilities
Digital skills for young people:
- Identifying digital needs for our education programme, developing a comprehensive syllabus and modules of essential digital skills for our young people including staying safe online and basics of using IT for work.
- Upskill the staff team to deliver this programme.
- Explore potential for better use of digital tools in our “primary” education eg Maths and English
- Where possible, provide inspiring materials for more ambitious learners, for example to try out coding or more advanced IT refurbishment
- Ambition to develop an apprenticeship programme for ex-learners to move into.
Getting Oxfordshire Online (GOO) refurbished devices hub:
- Deliver the supply of refurbished devices at SOFEA (ensuring data security, safety, quality).
- Manage and maintain the budget and performance reporting.
- Manage the allocation of devices to recipients, including logging on central GOO systems.
- Manage third party reporting such as the National Databank SIMs.
- Provide work experience for young people and volunteers to learn about the logistics and technical work of the refurbishment operation.
IT:
- Support Director of Business Support and out outsourced partner in providing IT support, with on-site help and hardware via the GOO hub.
- Manage PAT Testing of electrical devices on all sites to ensure safety.
- Input to development of IT processes for how systems are used at SOFEA.
- Support with training for staff
Skills & Expertise
Essential:
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with team members.
- Excellent teaching and coaching skills for learners and work experience.
- Strong knowledge of latest digital trends and tools.
- Experience of IT refurbishment and supply chain.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Passion for continuous improvement to drive the organisation’s capabilities forward.
- Ability to work independently and efficiently manage tasks and priorities of yourself and a team.
- Empathic manner suitable for working with a neurodiverse community.
Desirable:
- Proven experience in laptop and desktop computer repair and maintenance.
