About SSR Roofing
SSR Roofing is a leading roofing and maintenance contractor serving social housing and commercial clients across the UK. As part of our continued growth, we are launching a dedicated internal scaffolding division and are seeking a qualified and ambitious scaffolding professional to lead this exciting new venture.
The Role
The Head of Access will be responsible for building, managing, and growing SSR Roofing’s new scaffolding division. This is both a strategic and operational role, suitable for a qualified scaffolder who is confident delivering scaffolding jobs in the short term while scaling a team, winning work, and ensuring high standards of safety and performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development and rollout of SSR’s scaffolding division, including operational setup and staff recruitment.
- Carry out initial scaffolding installations while the division grows, ensuring safe and efficient delivery.
- Build and manage a high-performing access team, including scaffolders and labourers.
- Develop new business opportunities, build client relationships, and respond to tenders and pricing opportunities.
- Ensure all access works are compliant with Work at Height Regulations, TG20 guidance, and SSR’s internal safety protocols.
- Create and oversee RAMS and conduct regular safety inspections and audits.
- Coordinate closely with SSR’s roofing and commercial teams to deliver seamless end-to-end project support.
- Manage scheduling, logistics, and resource allocation across multiple jobs and sites.
Requirements
- Advanced CISRS Scaffolder card – essential.
- Hands-on experience delivering and managing scaffolding works, ideally in housing, education, or commercial environments.
- Strong understanding of scaffolding regulations, safety, and compliance requirements.
- Commercial experience in pricing, estimating, and securing work.
- Excellent team leadership and organisational skills.
- Confident communicator with the ability to liaise with clients, suppliers, and colleagues.
- Full UK driving licence.
