Gowrie House Care Home is located in the heart of Kirkcaldy. Our home provides Residential, Nursing, Dementia, and Respite care for up to 60 residents, offering a warm, supportive, and safe environment where every individual feels valued.
We are seeking a dedicated Head Housekeeper to lead our housekeeping team and ensure the home is maintained to the highest standards. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in creating a clean, comfortable, and welcoming environment for our residents, while inspiring your team to take pride in their work.
What We Offer
- £12.50 per hour

- 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full-time contract)
What You Will Do
As Head Housekeeper, you will oversee the day-to-day operations of the housekeeping team, ensuring every area of the home – from residents’ rooms to communal spaces – is maintained to the highest standard. You will mentor and support your team, offering guidance and training so they can perform their roles confidently and efficiently. You will manage schedules, delegate tasks effectively, and maintain oversight of cleaning supplies and equipment. By routinely inspecting the home and liaising with other departments, you will ensure the smooth running of housekeeping operations while creating a safe, hygienic, and welcoming environment for everyone. Your leadership will directly contribute to the well-being and comfort of our residents, making a real difference every day.
