As Group Strategy Manager you’ll contribute to JM’s mission as a world leader in sustainable technology, transforming energy and reducing carbon emissions for a cleaner, brighter future.
The role:
As a Group Strategy Manager, you will help drive our goals by:
- Defining and leading strategy projects at the Group level or in partnership with businesses and functions, managing the full process from problem framing through to solution delivery, building strategies to grow or improve existing areas, and providing clarity on future business direction.
- Investigating new areas of opportunity for the business, develop robust fact-based plans with alternatives and recommendations, and support or challenge proposals for the GLT, including preparing comprehensive business cases to guide investment decisions within the relevant sector.
- Reviewing and enhancing assumptions and business plans within the businesses to strengthen long-term strategic planning, ensuring recommendations and strategies are well-founded, aligned with company objectives, and actionable across multiple business areas.
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with Business and Global Function heads to act as a trusted thought partner on strategy initiatives, while contributing to and collaborating on special projects and initiatives that support overall Group objectives.
Key skills that will help you succeed in this role:
- Exceptional strategic thinking combined with strong analytical judgement, sophisticated problem-solving skills, and the ability to balance these with a solid understanding of operational and commercial challenges that could impact successful implementation.
- Proven ability to work effectively in a matrix organisation, engage with multiple stakeholders at all levels, present complex ideas clearly and persuasively to senior leadership, and confidently debate complex subjects while providing professional, constructive challenge.
- Strong financial literacy, including interpreting financial statements, building financial models, and evaluating NPV, paired with excellent verbal and written communication skills to influence decision-making and convey complex ideas effectively.
- Collaborative and team-oriented working style, exhibiting professional integrity and discretion when handling confidential information, supported by an outstanding educational background (financial, economic, master’s, or MBA), high energy, dedication, and the drive to make a significant impact in a fast-paced, high-impact environment.
