Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Grounds Maintenance Worker to join our team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in maintaining the aesthetic appeal and functionality of our outdoor spaces. This position involves a variety of tasks related to landscape maintenance, ensuring that gardens and grounds are kept in excellent condition.
Responsibilities
- Perform general groundskeeping duties, including mowing, trimming, and edging lawns.
- Dig, plant, and maintain flower beds, shrubs, and trees to enhance the landscape.
- Operate and maintain various hand tools and power tools effectively and safely.
- Build and repair fences, pathways, and other structures as needed.
- Irrigate gardens and landscaped areas to ensure proper hydration of plants.
- Conduct regular inspections of the grounds to identify maintenance needs or issues.
- Assist in the installation of irrigation systems to optimise water usage.
- Maintain cleanliness of all outdoor areas, including removing litter and debris.
- Assisting with the indoor maintenance
Skills
- Strong mechanical knowledge for operating and maintaining equipment.
- Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools relevant to grounds maintenance tasks.
- Experience in landscape maintenance with a keen eye for detail.
- Ability to dig, build, and irrigate effectively as part of garden upkeep.
- Good physical fitness to perform manual labour outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage time efficiently while working on multiple tasks.
