Job Overview
The Grounds Maintenance Worker plays a vital role in maintaining the aesthetic and functional quality of outdoor spaces. This position involves a variety of tasks related to landscape maintenance, gardening, and general upkeep of grounds to ensure they are safe, clean, and visually appealing. The ideal candidate will possess a blend of mechanical knowledge and practical skills to effectively utilise various tools and equipment.
Duties
- Perform landscape maintenance tasks including mowing, trimming, and edging lawns.
- Carry out gardening duties such as planting, weeding, and mulching to enhance the beauty of outdoor areas.
- Operate hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently for various maintenance tasks.
- Conduct irrigation system checks and repairs to ensure proper watering of plants and lawns.
- Utilise excavators for digging, grading, or moving earth as required for landscaping projects.
- Maintain equipment in good working order through regular checks and minor repairs.
- Assist with construction projects related to landscaping or outdoor facilities as needed.
- Ensure all work areas are kept clean and free from hazards.
Skills
- Proficiency in landscape maintenance techniques and practices.
- Strong mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot and repair equipment as necessary.
- Experience using hand tools, power tools, and machinery such as excavators effectively.

Job Type: Part-time
