Overview
We are seeking a passionate and skilled Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in meal preparation and food safety practices, with a keen interest in creating delicious dishes that delight our guests. This role is essential in maintaining the high standards of our kitchen and ensuring that every meal served is of the utmost quality.
Duties
- Prepare and cook a variety of meals according to established recipes and menu guidelines.
- Assist in the planning and execution of daily menus, ensuring all dishes are prepared to the highest standards.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation within the kitchen, adhering to food safety regulations at all times.
- Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure efficient service during busy periods.
- Monitor food stock levels and assist with inventory management, ensuring fresh ingredients are always available.
- Help train new kitchen staff on proper cooking techniques and safety protocols.
- Participate in regular kitchen meetings to discuss menu changes, special events, and team performance.
Experience
- Previous experience in a restaurant or culinary environment is preferred but not essential; a willingness to learn is key.
- Knowledge of food safety standards and best practices in food preparation is highly desirable.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- A passion for cooking and an eagerness to develop culinary skills further within a supportive team atmosphere.
