The Salvation Army has a 65 bed Life house in Sunderland to support 65 vulnerable people who are experiencing homelessness. The contract works within a psychologically informed framework.
Key Responsibilities:
To be part of the centre staff team, specifically to perform all cleaning- housekeeping duties such as the following:
- Assisting residents with laundry and to keep the rooms clean and tidy to an acceptable living standard
- Bed Changing
- Dusting
- Cleaning Windows
- Bathrooms
- Toilets and bathrooms
The successful candidate(s) will also need to demonstrate:
- Knowledge of relevant health and safety practice in regards to cleaning materials and equipment
- Some previous experience of commercial cleaning
- Basic standard of literacy and numeracy with the ability to communicate in English to the level required to fulfil your duties
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Keeping all appropriate paperwork evidencing tasks completed to support the services provided at the Lifehouse
- The ability and willingness to work within, be empathic with and promote the Christian ethos and values of The Salvation Army Mission
