We have an opportunity for a part time Horticulture Assistant at our family owned garden centre.
The role is very varied with each day bringing new challenges and rewards. Customer service is a priority to us, so you must go out of your way to help and advise customers on their gardening needs. The wellbeing of our plants is also critical to our success and you will play a pivotal role in keeping them happy and healthy... good horticultural knowledge is preferred but training will be offered to the right person. A horticultural qualification would be great too, but not essential.
You will work as part of a team and must be a team player but you will also need to be comfortable working independently. You will be enthusiastic and energetic and have lots of ideas to help us improve. You will also be proactive in greeting our customers, offering help and advice where necessary...and you will not be shy about making sales to boost our income.
As you will be working with the plants you will be outside for the majority of the time so you need to be accepting and tolerant of all weather conditions. It's also important to note that you will be required to work alternative weekends/weekend days and some bank holidays.
In return we offer a supportive, creative, mindful and fun working environment providing plenty of fresh air and beautiful plants. You will have the opportunity to shine and be recognised for your achievements.
The salary will be dependent uponon skills and experience, (to be discussed at interview). In addition to this you will receive a staff discount on plants, gardening products/gifts and in the restaurant too, (& we have great cakes!!).
If the above criteria's a fit for you then please apply and include a covering letter explaining why you are the person for us!
