About the Role
We’re seeking an organised, enthusiastic and people-focused Fundraising and Events Assistant to help drive the success of our events and campaigns.
Working closely with the Fundraising Manager, you’ll support the planning, promotion, and delivery of a wide range of fundraising initiatives — from exciting challenge events to local community drives — ensuring a seamless supporter experience.
This is a perfect role for someone looking to gain experience in the charity sector or build on their admin, events, or fundraising skills in a meaningful and rewarding environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in organising and delivering fundraising and challenge events
- Support event logistics, prize sourcing, and on-the-day execution
- Help create and manage JustGiving pages and encourage fundraisers
- Maintain accurate records in our CRM system
- Support with social media posts, blog content, and thank-you communications
- Attend occasional promotional and networking events
- Ensure equipment and materials are well-stocked and organised
- Champion our organisational values in everything you do
About You
Essential:
- Excellent organisational and communication skills
- Strong IT skills, especially in Microsoft Office
- Emotional intelligence and interpersonal awareness
- A team player with the ability to work independently
- A valid driving licence and access to transport
- Commitment to the mission and values of the Children’s Respite Trust
- Willingness to undertake an enhanced DBS check
Desirable:
- Experience in a fundraising, events, or charity environment (paid or voluntary)
- Familiarity with CRM or fundraising databases
- Educated to A Level or equivalent
- Ability to thrive in a small, collaborative team
