As a chapter lead, you'll focus more on 'How' we work rather than the 'What' we deliver'. You'll be responsible for leading, inspiring and motivating a team of colleagues in your chapter to be the best they can be. You will be responsible for ensuring your colleagues are assigned to the right squads to deliver great outcomes for our customers and drive satisfaction for our colleagues. As a servant leader you'll help colleagues in your chapter develop their mastery, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and innovation. As a chapter lead you'll be responsible for identifying, selecting and onboarding talent and will be an influential member of Tesco Mobile's leadership community. Our chapter leads also benefit from being hands on and practicing their own mastery as a member of a squad where you'll also get to focus on 'What' we deliver, you'll be relied upon as the expert in your craft across the business as well as a leader for others. As the chapter lead, you'll lead a team of developers with a range of skills and experiences. You'll be focussing on driving cross skilling across your team to support their personal development and maximise flexibility to drive agility across the business. As chapter lead you'll be responsible for ensuring the experts are assigned to the right cross functional squads based on their skills, experience and own development needs. You will work alongside some of your colleagues in a squad where you will lead by example in fostering a culture of excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement within the team, ensuring that our software development practices remain at the forefront of industry standards.

You will be responsible forAs a chapter Lead
- An active squad member bringing your expertise to the squad to deliver great outcomes for our customers
- Proactively identifying problems and challenges and actively resolving impediments to drive business value
- Defining standards, methodologies, tooling and practices to optimise how the colleagues in your chapter deliver
- Develop a mastery framework and use it to support your own and your colleagues personal development
- Support colleagues in driving their competency through coaching, mentoring and training

- Thought leader in your craft who guides and inspires the business to deliver innovative solutions

As a squad member
- Maintain high standards of code quality, through code reviews, automation and defining best practices
- Collaborate with solution architects and other colleagues to deliver scalable and secure applications
- Support the business in defining a strategy and transformation of key platforms and applications
- Develop, implement and optimise coding standards, design patterns and strategies
- Work with Cyber Security colleagues to implement solutions to protect our business and our customers
- Driving continuous improvement in CI/CD and maximising automation
- Diagnose and resolve complex technical challenges to optimise performance
- Extensive experience in developing robust backend solutions using Python and Django, ensuring high performance and scalability.
- Proficiency in building and maintaining Java applications, with a strong understanding of Java frameworks and libraries.
- Experience in developing efficient and scalable applications using Golang would be preferable
- Expertise in frontend development using JavaScript and Angular, creating dynamic and responsive user interfaces.
- Proficiency in containerization and orchestration using Kubernetes and Docker, ensuring efficient deployment and management of applications.
- Strong knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, with hands-on experience in automating workflows using GitHub Actions and Jenkins.
- Extensive experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS), including services like Amazon DynamoDB, Amazon SNS, and other cloud infrastructure components.
- Proficiency in using Redis for caching and RabbitMQ for message queuing, ensuring efficient data processing and communication.
- Expertise in managing databases, optimizing SQL queries, and ensuring efficient data retrieval and storage.
- Experience with NoSQL databases, particularly Amazon DynamoDB, for scalable and high-performance data management.
- Proven experience in designing, building, and consuming RESTful APIs, ensuring seamless integration between systems.
