Overview
We are seeking a skilled Dari-English Interpreter to facilitate effective communication between Dari-speaking individuals and English speakers. The ideal candidate will be fluent in both Dari and English, capable of providing accurate and culturally appropriate interpretation in real-time. This freelance role offers flexibility and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact by helping bridge language gaps in a variety of professional settings.
Responsibilities
- Provide real-time Dari–English interpretation for conversations, meetings, interviews, or remote calls.
- Interpret spoken communication clearly and accurately, preserving meaning, tone, and context.
- Maintain strict confidentiality and act professionally at all times.
- Review any relevant materials or context before interpretation sessions, when applicable.
- Take notes or document key information as needed during or after sessions.
- Collaborate with clients or team members to ensure effective communication.
Requirements
- Fluency in both Dari and English (spoken and comprehension).
- Strong verbal communication skills in both languages.
- Interpretation experience is preferred, but not mandatory.
- Excellent listening skills and the ability to work under pressure.
- Professional conduct and sensitivity to cultural differences.
- Reliable internet connection and a quiet environment (for remote assignments).
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience interpreting in legal, medical, social services, or community settings.
- Training or certification in interpretation (a plus, not required).
