Job Title: Forklift Driver
Reports into: Operations Manager (Warehouse & Parts)
Location: Newport NP19
Salary: £28,725.00 per annum
Hours: 40 per week across Monday to Friday (shifts include 6am to 3pm and 9am to 6pm). Flexibility to support Saturdays and bank holidays on a rota basis is required.

Genpower is the UK & Ireland distributor for Hyundai Power Products as well as the worldwide distributor for JCB Tools and power products. Our extensive brand portfolio also includes P1 Power Equipment, Evopower, Gardentek, and BE Pressure.
Due to continued growth, we are looking for experienced Forklift Drivers to join our Newport warehouse team. This is a physically demanding and varied role in a fast-paced distribution environment.
Our Newport site is a modern, 100,000 sqft warehouse with 16,000 pallet capacity and 10 loading docks. We have a close-knit team who work collaboratively across all aspects of the warehouse operation, including 3PL logistics.
Responsibilities
- Operate forklifts safely and efficiently to move materials within the warehouse.
- Load and unload products from delivery trucks and containers.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations while handling heavy lifting tasks.
- Assist with shipping and receiving processes to streamline operations.
- Conduct daily routine inspections and maintenance on forklifts and other equipment.
- Collaborate with team members to optimize warehouse workflow.
- Work as part of a team to ensure all safety critical work is carried out to the highest standard
- Support overall warehouse operations as needed.
Essential Skills:
- Proven experience as a Forklift Operator in a warehouse environment. (1+ years experience minimum)
- Strong knowledge of materials handling and safety protocols.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems is preferred.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting tasks safely.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work well in a team.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in stock handling.
- Physically fit and comfortable working in a demanding warehouse setting.
- A proactive, can-do attitude and ability to work both independently and within a team.
- Reliable and flexible with a strong work ethic.
- Excellent coordination and safety awareness when operating machinery in confined spaces.
Desirable skills:
- Previously VNA driving experience
- Valid Forklift certification, but applicants with experience will also be considered.
