Essex Professional Coaching is a children's activity, education and childcare sports provider that has been providing provision in our community since 2017.
The football development arm of our business exists to introduce, engage and inspire primary aged children across Essex to play football on a regular basis, whilst also providing opportunities for players with potential to develop their skills in focused, invitation only training groups alongside a competitive programme of games.
We are looking for passionate and experienced coaches to join our team to play a leading role in inspiring the next generation of players through fun and engaging sessions.
As an football coach with Essex Professional Coaching, your role and responsibilities will include the following:
- Plan, deliver and evaluate age appropriate football coaching sessions in line with our coaching syllabus
- Support and feedback to both children and parents in regards to their child's development on a regular basis
- Foster a positive and inclusive environment that encourages player development and a love for the gam
- Be a role model for the children you coach, displaying passion, enthusiasm and care to build positive relationships
- Collaborate with other coaching staff to ensure a cohesive approach to player development and to ensure players are on the appropriate pathway within our football centre and academy programmes
To be considered for the role you must demonstrate the following:
Personal qualities
- Motivated to deliver high quality football coaching sessions
- Effective communication skills when interacting with both young people and adults
- Passion for football and working with children
- Ability to encourage, develop & inspire individuals through coaching
- Reliability, with good time management skills
Skills & experience
- Have previous experience of working with children aged between 5 - 16 to deliver football coaching activities
- Familiarity with the local football community in Essex.
- Hold the FA level 1 coaching qualifications (required)
- 1st Aid Certification (required)
- Safeguarding qualification (required)
- Current enhanced DBS certificate (required)
- Hold a UEFA C licence coaching qualification (desirable)
- Hold a UEFA B licence coaching qualification (desirable)
- Sports coaching or physical education degree/diploma (desirable)

After shortlisting has taken place, we adopt a 3 stage interview process:
1. Telephone Interview - To go through the role and get to know you better
2. Practical Delivery - You will be required to plan and deliver a session at one of our football activities based on a session objective provided by our team
3. Formal Interview - To discuss your suitability for the role

- Available to coach on a minimum of one of the below evenings and locations midweek during term time: Monday (5.30-7.30pm - in Colchester), Tuesday (5.30 - 7.30pm in Clacton or 6-7.30pm in Colchester), Wednesday (6-7pm in Halstead) or Thursday (5-6pm or 6-7.30pm in Colchester). * Please note this is essential for the role
