Position: Roofing Operative

Requirements: DBS Check, Valid ID, Relevant Certifications (PASMA, Working at Height, etc.)
Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Roofing Operative to carry out essential roofing works at a school in Woolwich, starting 4th August 2025. The project involves the removal and replacement of felt roofing, guttering repairs, and ensuring a watertight finish.
Scope of Works:
- Removal of 25m² existing roof felt
- Inspection & leak investigation
- Minor repairs to roof deck (if required)
- Installation of new torch-on or self-adhesive felt system
- Removal & replacement of damaged guttering
- Full site clearance & reporting
Key Responsibilities:
- Compliance with Work at Height Regulations 2005
- Use of PPE & fall arrest systems
- Hot works (if applicable) with fire safety measures
- Completion of before/after reports
Essential Requirements:
- Valid DBS check (must be provided before start date)
- ID & Right to Work documentation
- Relevant certifications ( Working at Height, SSSTS/CSCS preferred)
- Experience in felt roofing systems & guttering repairs
- Own PPE & basic tools (specialist equipment provided)
- Ability to work safely in a school environment
Health & Safety Compliance:
- Daily scaffold/tower inspections
- Fire extinguisher on-site for hot works
- First aid-trained operative preferred
