Job Title: Grade 4 Family Assessment Practitioner – ‘Senior Keyworker’
(Third Level - Relevant Experience, Level 3 qualified, working towards Level 5)
Location: The Groves Family Assessment Centre (Centres in Sutton and Croydon)
Hours: 40 hours/week shift across 5 days on a 7-day Rota (including 2 weekends per month)
Salary Range: £36,504 - £39,584
1. Case Management:
- Serve as the primary assessment practitioner for one assigned family.
- Develop, implement, and review family assessment plans on a weekly basis.
2. Team Support:
- Contribute to the assessments of other families by collaborating with the assessment team.
- Share beneficial knowledge and experience to support team development.
3. Risk and Intervention Management:
- Complete, review, and update risk assessments regularly.
- Conduct bespoke key sessions with families to address specific needs and challenges.
- Be alert and responsive to potential safeguarding issues
4. Parental Support and Development:
- Teach and model effective parenting skills and practices.
- Monitor and evaluate the effects of interventions on children’s emotional and physical well-being.
5. Operational Support:
- Assist Centre Managers in the day-to-day running of the Centre, including staffing support.
- Identify and propose opportunities for improving existing practices.
- Ensure high standards of childcare and effective general house management.
6. Adherence to Frameworks:
- Work with Regulations and Standards for Residential Family Centres
- Work within the Framework for the Assessment of Children in Need and their Families.
- Ensure compliance with safeguarding policies and procedures.
Key Roles and Responsibilities:
Along with Grade 1, 2 & 3 roles and responsibilities you will also:
- Hold responsibility for at least 2 family.
- Mentor and support for staff including induction and supervision of new staff.
- Able to lead Pre-placement planning meetings.
- Take a lead on transition arrangements and planning for families into and out of the service.
Qualifications and Skills
1. Essential:
- Proven experience in family support, social care, or similar roles.
- Strong case management and risk assessment skills.
- Ability to teach parenting practices effectively.
- Proficiency in documenting and reviewing assessments.
- Knowledge of safeguarding principles and frameworks.
2. Desirable:
- Level 3 Diploma in Children and Young People or Residential Childcare and should be committed to working towards the Level 5.
- Experience in a leadership or supervisory role within a residential or family assessment setting.
