Your new role:
A Multi-Modal Operator manages the end-to-end transportation of goods across different modes of transport (e.g., air, sea, road) under a single contract. This role involves coordinating shipments, preparing documentation, liaising with various parties (carriers, customs, etc.), and ensuring compliance with regulations. Essentially, they are responsible for the smooth and efficient movement of freight from origin to destination, handling both import and export operations.
Responsibilities
· Preparing and processing export documentation, including bills of lading, invoices, and packing lists.
· Managing customs procedures, ensuring compliance with import/export regulations, and handling customs clearance.
· Coordinating shipping arrangements, including booking with carriers, arranging transportation (air, sea, or road), and tracking shipments.
· Maintaining communication with clients, shipping lines, agents, and other relevant parties.
· Providing support and information to customers regarding their shipments.
Required Skills and Experience:
· Experience: Proven experience in export operations, particularly with sea, air and road freight.
· Documentation: Strong understanding of export documentation and procedures.
· Compliance: Knowledge of import/export regulations and compliance requirements.
· Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
· Problem-solving: Ability to identify and resolve issues related to shipments.
· Organsational Skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritise work, and meet deadlines.
