Experienced Pawnbroker/key holder- required for Nathan and Co London branches (Peckham & Tooting). Start date to be agreed but the position is available immediately.
Experience in pawnbroking is essential.
The position is full time 5 days a week (one of which will usually be Saturday). Two Saturdays off a month are a common practice, however this is not guaranteed, and staff are expected to be available on Saturdays should there be a genuine business need. All Sundays and Bank Holidays are off. Hours of work are 9:00 -17:00 with a 30 minute lunch break.
The position is mobile i.e. the candidate must be able to work in either Peckham or Tooting on different days as specified on the rota. The position is based in Tooting with days in Peckham as required. No travel during a working day will be required.
The main duties include:
- supporting store managers in management tasks.
- running the stores in managers absence
- overseeing and supporting staff transactions at all times
- ensuring customer satisfaction at all times
- adhering to the company's compliance and other procedures at all times
- serving customers in pawnbroking, buy back, jewellery and electrical items sales, gold buying, foreign exchange and other services provided by the company according to company procedures.
- providing excellent customer service
- cash handling and cashing up
- making sure the customer and staff areas are tidy and presented up to the company's standard
- cleaning, pricing and displaying (gold and silver) jewellery and electrical stock for sale
- admin work including all management tasks
- dealing with telephone enquiries
- testing and appraising precious metals and stones
- testing and appraising electrical items (buyback)
- other duties as required
About you:
- eligible to work full time in the UK
- pawnbroking experience with understanding of management tasks and procedures is essential
- buyback, electrical or foreign exchange experience will be an advantage
- cash handling experience
- good numeracy skills
- ability to learn and adapt
- self-starter with high motivation levels
- IT literate
- very good English language skills
- accurate, with attention to detail
- excellent teamwork and communication skills
- honest and reliable
- sociable
