The role
As an Executive Assistant you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. Acting as a trusted partner to senior leaders, you’ll play a pivotal role in driving operational efficiency, managing high-level communications, and supporting mission-critical projects. With access to sensitive information and involvement in key decision-making processes, you’ll help shape priorities, streamline workflows, and ensure the smooth running of complex initiatives.
Day-to-day, you’ll deliver high-quality, confidential executive support to SLT members, as well as:
- Proactively manage a complex and demanding calendar, ensuring alignment with strategic priorities.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with Executive Assistants across the Marine Sector, Group, and wider Babcock business.
- Arrange business travel, including flights, accommodation, and ground transport, in line with Babcock’s travel policy and Trade Control requirements.
- Act as a professional point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, managing calls, emails, and correspondence with discretion and efficiency.
This role is full time and is adaptable and can be delivered from various locations including Rosyth, Bristol and HMNB Devonport, Plymouth.
Essential experience of the Executive Assistant
- Proven experience in executive support at a senior level.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organisational and time management abilities.
- Ability to work independently, use initiative, and manage competing priorities.
- Flexible, adaptable, and a collaborative team player.
- Demonstrate high levels of integrity, respect, discretion, flexibility, and courtesy with sound cultural awareness.
Qualifications for the Executive Assistant
- Educated to GCSE A to C English and Maths
- NVQ Qualification Level 3 Business Admin or equivalent
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams).
Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
