We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team with immediate start. The ideal candidate will provide essential support to vulnerable adult, children and young people in their own homes. This role involves assisting vulnerable adults, children and young people with daily activities, promoting their independence, and ensuring their overall well-being. A strong focus on empathy and patience is crucial, particularly when working with children and young people with complex needs and know how to safeguard them to ensure that they are safe at all times.
Responsibilities
- Assist adult, children and young people with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, and personal appearances.
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to the dietary needs of the child or young person.
- Implement behaviour management strategies to promote positive interactions and outcomes.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance the quality of life for the child or young person.
- Drive the child or young person to appointments or social activities when required.
- Maintain accurate records of children and young people's progress and any changes in behaviour or health status.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop personalised care plans for each child / young person.
- Ensure a clean and safe environment for all children / young people by adhering to health and safety regulations.
Requirements
- Previous experience with vulnerable adults, children and young people is preferred.
- Knowledge of vulnerable adults, children and young people's safeguarding procedures.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with children / young person's and their families.
- A valid driving licence is required for the community and the delivery of care in their homes.
- Compassionate nature with a genuine desire to help others.
- Flexibility in working hours, including availability for shifts during evenings or weekends if required.
