Job Summary:
As a European Export Clerk, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day export operations of shipments across Europe. You'll work closely with hauliers, customers, customs agents, and internal teams to ensure all cargo is processed, documented, and transported efficiently and compliantly.
Key Responsibilities:
- Arrange and manage daily European road freight export shipments (FTL, LTL, groupage)
- Prepare and process all relevant export documentation including CMRs, export declarations, and commercial invoices
- Liaise with clients, transport partners, and customs brokers to ensure smooth collection and delivery
- Track shipments and keep customers updated on progress or delays
- Ensure export compliance with UK and EU customs regulations and procedures
- Work closely with warehouse and transport teams to coordinate dispatches
- Maintain accurate records within internal systems and transport management software
- Assist in resolving operational issues, delays, or discrepancies
- Provide excellent customer service and support throughout the shipment lifecycle
Requirements:
- Previous experience in road freight exports or European logistics (1–2 years preferred)
- Understanding of European transport documentation and export procedures
- Familiarity with customs processes, especially post-Brexit requirements
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and transport/logistics systems (e.g., CargoWise, ASM, or similar)
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
Desirable:
- Knowledge of Incoterms and cross-border customs documentation
- Experience with export declarations via CDS or similar platforms
- Additional European language skills are an advantage
