Are you a skilled mechanical engineer with a passion for healthcare environments? Somerset NHS Foundation Trust is looking for an Estates Officer - Mechanical to join our dynamic Estates & Facilities team at Musgrove Park Hospital.
This position also offers a Recruitment and Retention payment of £2,500 per year.
Main duties, tasks & skills required
As the Estates Officer (Mechanical), you will manage a variety of engineering and environmental tasks related to the maintenance, installation, testing, repair, and commissioning of mechanical services and equipment. You will ensure the integrity of the hospital's engineering infrastructure, focusing on primary mechanical plant operations such as heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC), steam boiler systems, and water treatment systems.

Qualifications
Essential
ONC/HNC or equivalent in a mechanical engineering or similar discipline
HND or Degree level education and evidence of continuing professional development
Project Management Qualification - (PRINCE 2) or similar
Membership of a relevant professional body
Experience
Essential
Competency in Health and Safety Legislation.
Good knowledge of computer applications including Microsoft Office Suite
Extensive knowledge of Computer Aided Facilities Management Systems (CAFM). Managing and planning maintenance of Mechanical systems
Using BMS systems
Desirable
Knowledge of Estates services provision.
