About the Opportunity
We’re on the lookout for an enthusiastic ESG & Sustainability Advisor to join our award-winning team, supporting key environmental, social, and governance (ESG) initiatives across the Dandara Group. Reporting to our Sustainability Manager and working closely with the Head of ESG, you’ll play a vital role in helping us drive forward our sustainability agenda—supporting data collection, analysis, reporting, and stakeholder engagement across both our Housebuilding and Build to Rent divisions. This is a 12-month maternity cover with real potential to develop into a longer-term opportunity for the right candidate.

Where You’ll Be Based (and How We Work)

You’ll join us at either our central London or Milton Keynes office—whichever suits you best. The role is offered on a 12-month fixed-term basis to cover maternity leave, but for the right person, there’s every chance it could grow into something longer term. We work hybrid, with around 3 days a week in the office, giving you the best of both worlds: collaboration and flexibility.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Collaborating with teams across the business to gather, validate and analyse social value data

  • Supporting the Social Value Manager with quarterly reporting and presentation creation

  • Using tools like SmartWaste and supporting the development of internal ESG dashboards

  • Monitoring resource consumption (energy, water, waste) across our sites and offices

  • Assisting in the preparation and analysis of data for key ESG and sustainability reporting requirements, including:

    • Streamlined Energy and Carbon Reporting (SECR)

    • Energy Savings Opportunity Scheme (ESOS)

    • Net Zero Carbon targets

What You’ll Bring

Essential

  • Proven experience in ESG, sustainability, or energy-related roles

  • Strong understanding of UK sustainability, climate, and energy policies

  • Excellent data analysis skills, with strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel

  • Effective time management and organisational skills

  • Ability to collaborate confidently across departments and communicate clearly

  • Self-motivated and proactive, with the ability to work independently

Desirable

  • Experience using Power BI or other data visualisation tools (training can be provided)

  • Familiarity with SmartWaste (BRE’s environmental platform) or similar tools

  • Exposure to ESG disclosure/reporting frameworks such as:

    • SECR (Streamlined Energy and Carbon Reporting)

    • ESOS (Energy Savings Opportunity Scheme)

    • Net Zero Carbon initiatives

  • Knowledge of social value reporting and impact measurement
