Grounds Maintenance Operative – Keep Our Green Spaces Looking Great!
Love working outdoors? Enjoy getting your hands dirty and making things look their best? If you’ve got a passion for plants, a knack for neatness, and a good eye for detail, this could be the perfect role for you.
We’re looking for a Grounds Maintenance Operative to join our team full-time on a permanent basis. You’ll be helping to keep Peabody’s estates clean, green, and welcoming for residents, visitors, and colleagues alike.
What your day might look like:
- Start with your scheduled grounds maintenance tasks—keeping everything tidy and on track.
- Get stuck into horticultural activities like planting seasonal beds, trimming hedges, turf care, weed control, and leaf clearing.
- Finish up by disposing of green waste responsibly, in line with company policy and environmental regulations.
What makes this role special:
You’ll be out and about in the fresh air, working across our estates to create spaces people love to live in. Whether it’s planting vibrant flower beds or keeping paths clear and safe, your work will be seen and appreciated every day.
You’ll be part of a friendly, supportive team—and we’ll even provide a company van to help you get the job done.
And here’s a little bonus: After you've settled in, you can refer a friend and earn £250 in vouchers when they pass 6 months of employment with us!
Could it be you?
We’re looking for someone who:
- Is happy working outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Has a full, clean UK driving licence.
- Has experience in horticulture and grounds maintenance.
- Knows how to safely use powered equipment like mowers and strimmers.
What you’ll get in return:
- 30 days’ annual holiday (plus bank holidays)
- 2 paid volunteering days each year
- Access to a flexible benefits scheme and discount portal
- Life assurance at 4x your salary
- Up to 10% pension contribution
- A role where your work makes a visible difference every day
This role requires a Basic DBS check and a Full UK driving licence.
Please note: Peabody does not offer sponsorship for this role.
A role where your work truly grows.
Interviews will be taking place on Wednesday 10th September, so if this sounds like your kind of job, we’d love to hear from you.
