What is the role?
Job Title: Electrical Installation Inspection & Testing Lead
Reporting to: Production Manager
Location: Orbital, ST15 0QN. Visits to client premises/sites will be infrequent but could involve overnight stays.
Working Pattern: 40 hours per week (Monday – Friday) – 2pm finish on a Friday.
Rate of pay: £23.00 per hour / £47,840 per annum
Responsibilities:
- Oversee and complete testing documentation (electrical, instrumentation, hazardous area, etc.) for projects, to ensure correct completion & compliance.
- Project installation inspection work including pre-testing and pre-commissioning of completed projects.
- Highlight problems and offer solutions as well as guiding junior members of the team.
- Liaise with the Engineering and Project teams for drawing and documentation queries (redline updates).
- Responsible for any lock out tag out requirements.
Qualifications Required:
- Fully qualified Electrician with apprenticeship
- Industrial experience, hazardous area experience preferred but not essential
- C&G Level 2 & Level 3 Diplomas in Electrical Installations (2365)
- C&G 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (2382)
- C&G Inspection and Testing of Electrical Installations (2391)
- CompEx Ex01 – Ex04 (desirable – training can be provided)
- Good working knowledge of current Electrical regulations
- Full driving license and access to own vehicle
Desirable Skills & Experience:
- Significant experience within a quality-driven industry, e.g. Automotive, Aerospace etc.
- Meticulous with attention to detail.
- Well organised and disciplined.
- Good time management skills.
- Good communication skills.
- Proactive in their approach to work.
- Work effectively in accordance with legislative regulatory rules.
- Ability to identify and implement change to improve efficiency.
- A strong team player.

The salary banding for this role is up to £47,840 per annum and is based on an applicant’s Skills, Training and Competence.
