To allow us to continue our exceptional standards of care and education we are seeking a qualified and compassionate Baby Room Practitioner to join us on a maternity cover basis.
Our baby room is a light, spacious and newly renovated environment designed with babies’ wellbeing in mind. It has its own private and cosy garden for free-flow outdoor learning, offering safe and stimulating experiences in fresh air and nature. The space promotes calm, connection, and curiosity — everything our youngest learners need to thrive.

About the Role – Baby Room Practitioner (Maternity Cover)
This maternity cover role involves working closely with our under-2s to provide the highest standards of care, supporting each baby’s emotional and physical development through sensitive interactions and play. You’ll be part of a skilled and caring team who are passionate about forming strong bonds with babies and their families.
What We’re Looking For
We’re looking for someone who is:
- Level 2 or 3 qualified (or above) in Early Years
- Experienced in working with babies aged 0–2, or confident and naturally nurturing in approach
- Warm, emotionally responsive and able to build secure attachments with babies
- Skilled in observing non-verbal cues and responding with care and attentiveness
- A collaborative team member with excellent communication skills
- Passionate about creating a safe, homely, and developmentally rich environment
Key Responsibilities
- Provide consistent, loving care and build secure relationships with each baby
- Deliver engaging, sensory and exploratory experiences tailored to the needs of babies
- Act as a Key Person, supporting routines such as feeding, sleeping, and toileting with sensitivity
- Work closely with families to build trust and ensure a shared approach to care
- Ensure a safe, clean, and emotionally supportive baby room environment
- Maintain records and observations in line with the EYFS and safeguarding requirements
Experience
- Previous baby room or under-2s experience is highly desirable
- Must have a solid understanding of infant development, care routines, and attachment theory
- Childcare qualification at Level 2 or Level 3 minimum is required

Work Schedule
- Monday to Friday — no evenings or weekends

Pay: £22,880.00-£26,000.00 per year
