Early Years Lead Practitioner Apprenticeship - Level 5 - Sunbeams Day Nursery, Weymouth
Shoots Training are currently recruiting for a punctual, reliable and enthusiastic individual to complete an Early Years Lead Practitioner Level 5 Apprenticeship at Sunbeams Day Nursery, Weymouth in a Room Leader role.
Sunbeams have a large free flow accessible garden which means the children can chose to come inside or go outside as and when they would like. Their outside area is surrounded by fields, which look over the coast, all the way down to Portland Bill. Under our watchful eyes, the children are free to explore the garden, play with the swings, in the sandpit and Wendy-houses, and ride bicycles and scooters.
At one end of the garden, we have a small fenced off farm area with chickens, bunnies, guinea pigs, quails and a pond filled with fish. The children help the staff daily to collect the eggs and feed the animals.
The children use the eggs for our cooking activities and enjoy learning about how to look after and care for them. We have had our chickens since tiny hatchling's and our bunnies since they were newly born so the children have been a huge part of the growing process. We also have a vegetable patch and a greenhouse tunnel for the children to plant a wide variety of vegetables.
Your duties and responsibilities will include;
- Managing the day to day running of the room and the team of practitioners working there
- There is the opportunity to progress to deputy manager with this role. And also cover the SENDCO duties
- The role of the Room Leader is to ensure the children receive high quality care, are kept safe and are provided with planned activities
- To support all aspects of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum
- The Room Leader will be responsible for the team of practitioners working within the room
Requirements;
- You must be able to gain a clear DBS,
- Having GCSE's A*-C in English Language and Maths, or equivalent i.e. functional skills are desired but not essential
- Level 3 Childcare Qualification is essential when applying for this role
Hours;
- The successful candidate will be required to work between 30-40 hours per week, with shift patterns to be discussed
- Sunbeams Day Nursery, Weymouth is open from 07:00-17:00
