Overview
We are seeking a reliable and skilled Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of vehicle operation and maintenance, with the ability to navigate various routes efficiently. This role involves transporting goods and materials while ensuring timely deliveries and maintaining high standards of safety and customer service.
Duties
- Operate various types of vehicles, including flatbed, vehicles and vans, for the delivery of goods.
- Conduct pre-trip inspections to ensure vehicles are in safe operating condition.
- Communicate effectively with warehouse staff and customers regarding delivery schedules and requirements.
- Load and unload cargo, ensuring it is secured properly for transport.
- Maintain accurate delivery records and logs as required by company policy.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations while driving.
- Provide excellent customer service during deliveries, addressing any questions or concerns from clients.
Skills
- Proven experience in commercial driving, with a valid driving licence appropriate for the vehicle type.
- Familiarity with warehouse operations and logistics processes.
- Strong mechanical knowledge to perform basic vehicle maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with team members and customers.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Experience as a delivery driver or van driver is advantageous.
- A good understanding of road safety regulations and best practices.
