Dog Grooming Tutor – Train, Support, and Inspire the Next Generation
At My Dog Barber Training Academy, we believe that grooming changes lives — not just for the dogs, but for the people who learn the craft. We’re expanding our tutor team in Hebburn and are keen to connect with experienced groomers who feel ready to guide others.
Whether you’re already delivering training or have mentored others informally in a salon setting, this could be the ideal next step.
What the Role Involves
This is a practical, people-focused role where you'll help students learn real-world salon skills through hands-on experience and supportive coaching. You’ll work with small groups (typically 4–6 learners), helping them build confidence in:
- Bathing, drying, clipping, scissoring, and styling
- Understanding coat types, client handling, and salon safety
- Bridging the gap between theory and practice
You’ll also play a key part in shaping a calm, inclusive training environment, maintaining paperwork, and guiding students toward readiness for professional salon life.
What Makes This Role Different
- You’ll teach in purpose-built spaces with admin support and quality equipment
- Our students groom real dogs from day one, with your help and supervision
- We value consistency, care, and clarity — both in teaching and communication
- You’ll be part of a friendly, growing team that genuinely wants students to succeed
This Could Suit You If:
- You’ve got solid salon experience and a calm, patient way with people and dogs
- You enjoy helping others learn and have experience showing team members the ropes
- You hold a Level 3 Dog Grooming qualification
- You’re open to gaining a teaching or assessing qualification (we can support this)
What You Can Expect:
- Competitive pay based on experience and qualifications
- £35,000-£52,000p/a pro rata
- CPD opportunities and further training support
- A role with purpose, where every day you help someone build a future
