We are expanding our team of passionate and professional staff at Riverside Health Partnership. We are seeking a qualified and dedicated dispenser to join our team based at Gringley. You will need to be of a caring disposition who has a desire to work in a fast-paced, forward thinking GP practice.
We are a busy practice caring for over 23,000 patients over 4 sites in Gringley-on-the-Hill, Misterton, Harworth and Retford. The successful candidate will be based in our Dispensary at our Gringley site. We are a well-led, well-managed and supportive practice. We are consistently a high performing GP training practice with 5 partners and 9 salaried GP's working alongside an excellent team of ANPs, nurses, social prescribers and practice pharmacists. We also have up to 8 GP Registrars training at any one time.
We are working during challenging time in Primary Care and we have changed our work patterns radically to meet the different demands of our patients by great teamwork, cooperation, and flexibility.
THE ROLE
Due to expansion of our services, an exciting opportunity to join a caring, well-managed and dedicated dispensary team and can hit the ground running to maintain our outstanding service to patients.
The successful candidate will be an integral part of the team and will be able to provide a comprehensive and accurate dispensing service for patients including MDS trays, further training for the Medicines Management Facilitator (MMF) Scheme is available for the right candidate.
Although the post-holder will take responsibility for their own work, they will work as part of the wider practice team, and be supervised and mentored by senior colleagues.

Job Summary:
To provide a comprehensive and accurate dispensing service for patients including MDS trays, further training for NVQ 2 will be given for the ideal candidate
Main Duties/Key Tasks:
- To ensure that all medicines and appliances dispensed are checked against the prescription and whenever there is a doubt about the appropriateness of the item, or about the dose or labelling instructions to check with the authorising doctor or duty doctor.
- To collect all due prescription charges and ensure that the patient declaration on the reverse of the FP10 is duly filled in and signed by the patient.
- To ensure that all monies received or handled ion behalf of the practice are appropriately stored and passed to the finance team for banking and records are kept of all financial transactions.
- To endorse all prescription forms as appropriate, collate and forward the forms in a secure manner along with the finance manage to the PPA for processing and reimbursement. The forms should be bundled in accordance with current PPA guidelines and include any necessary accompanying paperwork such as the FP34D and invoices as requires by the PPA.
- To promptly forward all invoices and dispensary related correspondence to the finance team according to practice policy.
- To notify the authorising Doctor of any FP10 returns/feedback from the PPA do that any appropriate remedial action may be taken
- To operate efficient stock control appropriate to the needs of the dispensary with the objective of ensuring continuity of supply for patients and minimising wastage through out of date stock.
- To ensure that drugs are stored appropriately in accordance with the accompanying instructions.
- To ensure that the shelves and all work surfaces are regularly cleaned to maintain a high level of hygiene within the dispensary and that all dispensary equipment is kept clean and kept in good working order.
- To take prompt action in response to any drug alert bulletins that may be received from time to time.
- To ensure that refrigerated items are stored at the appropriate temperature and to maintain a temperature control record/logbook.
- To maintain full and accurate records of all dispensing transaction including CD’s incorporating the use of computers when available and appropriate.
- To ensure the dispensary is compliant with CQC regulations
To undertake any necessary work as may be required and appropriate maintain a high standard and efficient dispensing service.
