Key Objectives:
- Working within the drawing office section, responsible for the generation of mechanical drawings of products for manufacture.
- Responsible for the preparation of specifications, material requisitions and BOMs.
- Design of mechanical aspects of Company’s products and projects.
- Timely and accurate productions of mechanical drawings, bill of materials and other associated documentation.
Main Tasks/Responsibilities:
· Follow and maintain weekly work schedule as issued by Engineering Manager.
· Produce 3D components and assemblies of company products and site layouts.
· Design, detail and produce drawings of mechanical components in line with the summary of contract requirements.
· Produce bill of materials and kitting lists according to specific Summary of Contract order requirements.
· Produce Purchase requisitions for purchase to contract items.
· Peer checking of drawings presented by colleagues.
· Liaise with sub-contractors and suppliers as required.
· Liaise with Electrical draughtsman to ensure on time delivery of panel information.
· Liaise with NC engineer to ensure on time delivery of NC data.
· Work to the spirit and intent of the company systems, procedures and instructions.
· Maintain office records including boiler files, drawing files and microfilm archive.
· Report conflicts in work schedules to the Engineering Manager.
· Liaise with other functions of the business and their staff as required.
· Undertake any other duties as directed by the company, as required in the pursuit of company business.
Skills and Qualities Desirable from Post Holder
- Mechanical Design/Draughting experience in AutoCAD and Solidworks is essential.
- Good computer and IT skills (eg. Microsoft Office).
- Relevant experience within a similar manufacturing industry would be advantageous.
- Working knowledge of materials and processes.
- Knowledge of boiler or pressure vessel design and construction would be advantageous.
- High level of numeracy.
- Ability to work to deadlines by identifying and prioritising tasks.
